Template — review with counsel. This page is a starting template written for the fictional Halvenor Realty demonstration and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Do not publish it for a real business without legal review in every country where you operate.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use them, and similar technologies such as local storage, to make the site work, to remember your choices and, with your permission, to understand how it is used.
Our approach: opt-in for non-essential cookies
When you first visit, we show a banner that lets you accept or reject each non-essential category. Optional cookies are not set until you opt in, and rejecting is as easy as accepting. You can change your choices at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. We also respect the Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser.
Categories of cookies
The table below describes the categories we use and the typical retention periods.
- Strictly necessary: keep you signed in, protect forms from abuse and remember your cookie choices. Retention: session to 12 months. These do not require consent.
- Preferences: remember your currency, units, language and recent searches. Retention: up to 12 months. Set only with consent.
- Analytics: measure page views, search use and errors, using aggregated and, where possible, anonymised data. Retention: up to 13 months. Set only with consent.
- Marketing and advertising: used by advertising partners to show relevant ads and measure campaigns. Retention: up to 13 months. Set only with consent, and not used at all unless you opt in.
Third parties
Some cookies are set by third-party providers, such as our map and video providers, when you load their content. Those providers process data under their own privacy policies. We list the providers in the cookie settings panel and update it when they change.
How to manage cookies
Besides our own settings, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; instructions are on your browser’s help page. If you block necessary cookies, parts of the site such as sign-in and saved searches may stop working. To stop interest-based advertising across many sites, you can also use industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out pages in the US or Your Online Choices in Europe.
Updates and contact
We will update this policy if we change the cookies we use. For questions, email privacy@halvenor.example.
