Relocation & international buyers
Help for people moving countries or buying from abroad, from tax numbers to local lawyers.
Moving between countries means unfamiliar tax numbers, bank requirements and legal steps. Our relocation team coordinates a viewing trip or video tour, introduces lawyers and notaries, and explains the local purchase process in plain language.
What you get
- One coordinator: A single point of contact between the agents in both countries.
- Remote buying support: Video tours, condition reports and power-of-attorney guidance.
- Tax and bank setup: Introductions for NIE, NIF, bank accounts and currency transfers.
- Settling-in help: Utilities, schools, movers and local registration.
We work across all ten of our markets, so a buyer moving from Toronto to Lisbon can keep the same coordinator on both sides.

Common questions
Answers to the questions clients ask us most about this service.
Can foreigners buy property in these countries?
In all ten countries where we operate, non-residents can buy residential property. Some places add taxes or approval requirements: Canada has a temporary ban on purchases by non-Canadians of most residential property, and the UK adds a 2% surcharge for non-resident buyers. Check current rules before making an offer.
Can I buy without visiting the property?
Yes. We offer live video tours, detailed condition reports and local lawyers who can act on your behalf with a power of attorney. We still recommend a visit before final commitment, if possible.
How do I send money across borders safely?
Use a regulated bank or foreign exchange provider and keep records of the source of funds, which lawyers must verify under anti-money-laundering rules. Confirm bank details by phone before every transfer, because payment fraud in property transactions is widespread.
Will owning property give me residency?
Not automatically. Portugal and Spain have closed or restricted property-based residence schemes, and most countries separate ownership from immigration status. Speak to an immigration lawyer about the route that fits your situation.
