Bright three-bedroom apartment on Calle Serrano
Salamanca, Madrid
By ·Lucía Ferrer

Barrio de Salamanca is Madrid’s most prestigious shopping and residential district, with grid-pattern streets, luxury boutiques and elegant 19th-century apartment buildings. It commands the highest prices in the city.
Tall ceilings, portered buildings and upscale shops define the area, with Calle Serrano as its main artery. The Retiro park is a few minutes away on foot.
Metro lines 2, 4, 5, 6 and 9 serve the district, and the Atocha and Chamartín rail stations are a short ride. Many residents walk to the centre.
In 2026 the median sale price is about €850K, roughly €8,900 per square metre, and a typical 2-bedroom rental costs about €2,900 a month. Prices are up 7% on a year ago and homes take around 52 days to sell, which points to very strong demand.
Traffic along Serrano and Velázquez can be heavy, though side streets are quiet. Prime apartments in portered buildings can carry high community fees.
