Family apartment with balcony near the Bois de Boulogne
16e Arrondissement, Paris
By ·Sofia Moreau

The 16th arrondissement is a quiet, residential, family-oriented area on Paris’s western side, with wide avenues, Haussmann buildings and easy access to the Bois de Boulogne. It is calmer and greener than the centre.
Large apartments in Haussmann and 1930s buildings sit beside parks, embassies and diplomatic residences. Passy, Auteuil and Trocadéro each have their own character, and the Bois de Boulogne is the area’s green lung.
Metro lines 6, 9 and 10 and the RER C serve the district, putting the Champs-Élysées and La Défense within 15 to 20 minutes. Driving is easier here than in the central arrondissements.
In 2026 the median sale price is about €1.15M, roughly €11,900 per square metre, and a typical 2-bedroom rental costs about €3,300 a month. Prices are down 2% on a year ago and homes take around 82 days to sell, which points to balanced demand.
It is quiet at night, with fewer cafes and nightlife than the east of the city. Strong private and public schools make it popular with families, and apartments often come with cellars and maids’ rooms.
