Red-brick terrace in the heart of Ranelagh
Ranelagh, Dublin
By ·Aoife Byrne

Ranelagh is a sought-after south Dublin village with red-brick terraces, independent restaurants and a Luas stop on its doorstep. Its mix of period homes and walkable amenities attracts young professionals and families.
Cafes and restaurants line Ranelagh Village, and the surrounding streets are filled with Victorian red-brick houses and converted flats. Ranelagh Gardens is a small green space at the heart of the village.
The Green Line Luas runs to St Stephen’s Green in about 10 minutes, and the city centre is also a pleasant 30-minute walk or a short cycle. Dundrum and the south are reachable on the same line.
In 2026 the median sale price is about €620K, roughly €7,000 per square metre, and a typical 2-bedroom rental costs about €2,700 a month. Prices are up 4.8% on a year ago and homes take around 20 days to sell, which points to very strong demand.
Parking is limited and permit-controlled, and period homes often have lower BER ratings, so budget for retrofitting. Weekend evenings are busy along the village main street.
