Didsbury is a leafy south Manchester suburb with a village centre, strong schools and big Victorian houses. Families move here for the green space and the Metrolink link to the city centre.
Didsbury Village is built around independent cafes, delis and a handful of old pubs, with leafy roads of Victorian semis and villas leading off it. The River Mersey runs along the southern edge, and Fletcher Moss Gardens and the parks are a big draw.
The Metrolink reaches Piccadilly in about 25 minutes from East Didsbury and Didsbury Village, and Manchester Airport is around 20 minutes by car. Driving into the centre is slow at peak times.
In 2026 the median sale price is about £450K, roughly £4,600 per square metre, and a typical 2-bedroom rental costs about £1,900 a month. Prices are up 3.9% on a year ago and homes take around 30 days to sell, which points to strong demand.
Schools are the main draw, so houses near the best catchments carry a premium. The village is quiet most evenings, but parking is tight and the busier Wilmslow Road carries steady traffic.
